The Vodafone Smart is based on a chipset developed by Qualcomm called the MSM7225 RISC Application Processor, described by PDADB.net here.

This chipset is used in many other Android models such as the Huawei Gaga and Huawei Ideos

The element that contains the GPS component is known as the ‘gpsOne Gen 7′

GPS Gen 7 is the one as described as being present in the SnapDragon chipsets

GPS One technology is described in Qualcomm’s website

Vodafone Smartphone 2 (or Smartphone II), an Alcatel TCL V860

Category: Android 2.3 devices,Device descriptionwpgeorge @ 8:49 pm

This device follows in on the footsteps of its predecessor, the Huawei-based Vodafone Smartphone.

This capable device contains some bloatware but once you drag and drop all the unwanted default icons into the trash can, you can begin to appreciate a very responsive and crisp interface.

This is the hardware specification as provided by PDADB.Net

When I first learned about this device a couple of days ago, I thought it was just a rework of the original Huawei 8160, but this is a completely different telephone that has gone through a separate design by Alcatel.

I could not find a reference to this device on the Alcatel One Touch website, but I found that the product is described at the WiFi Certified website as being an Alcatel-manufactured device with this information:

Primary Category: Smartphone, multi-mode (Wi-Fi and other)

Model: Vodafone Smart II

Date of WiFi certification: 7 march 2012
